My research interests include computer graphics, geometric modelling and processing, computer aided geometric design, computer vision and image processing.

Geometric Shape Analysis and Modelling with Applications in Computer Graphics

Application Area:

Techniques for analysing geometric models allow more efficient modelling of geometric objects in computer graphics. This also has applications in image processing such as image vectorisation.

Research:

3D geometric models in computer graphics and other areas are usually represented as irregular triangulated meshes. The research involves a variety of techniques to process geometric models to facilitate model reuse, i.e. generating new models based on existing ones. This involves analysing existing models to identify significant features or structures, constructing more effective representations via for example remeshing and techniques for augmenting geometric objects with textures or designed vector fields.
